About Our Practice
Shannon Street Medical opened on 1st September 2025 at 17 Shannon Street inside the purpose-built clinical space. The practice has ample space, running over two floors, including 5 consultation rooms and generous waiting area. Our practice is wheelchair accessible.
It was established on 17th June 2013 at 8 Shannon Street under Dr Annemarie Dineen, GP Principal. After 12 years, the need for expansion was imminent and having found an ideal location (just right across the road!) the decision was made to move.
Dr Annemarie Dineen, with further practice expansion and development in mind, named her new place Shannon Street Medical.
This purpose-built clinic has ample space with four spacious consultation rooms, a clinical treatment room and generous reception/waiting area.
Recently, we have been joined in the practice by Dr Ed Duffy.

Our Team
Dr Annemarie Dineen
GP principal, has extensive experience in General Practice, having worked in various practices in Limerick City since completing her ICGP memberships under the Mid-West GP Training Programme in 2007. She has a diploma in Child Health, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and musculoskeletal medicine. She holds a certificate in Family Planning.
Dr Dineen has studied in the Honourable Society of KingsInns, Dublin over a three period, graduating with honours in Advanced Diploma in Medical Law and Graduate Diploma in Law.
Dr Dineen is also involved in teaching. Recently, she was appointed Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor A of School of Medicine, University of Limerick.

Dr Ed Duffy
GP. Graduated from St. George’s Universtity of London in 2015, Dr Duffy worked in numerous hospitals across Ireland and UK. He then completed his ICGP membership under the Mid-West GP Training Programme in 2022. Prior to joining our practice, Dr Duffy worked in various practices across Limerick and Clare counties.
Dr Duffy holds Master Degree in Medical Law and Ethic from University of Kent.
He is actively involved in teaching. Dr Duffy is teaching in Medical School of Univessity of Limerick and is a GP trainee mentor under ICGP Midwest training scheme.

Nurse Majella Galvin
Majella Galvin is a highly qualified nurse with decades of experience in a wide range of healthcare services from phlebotomy to lifestyle medicine. Our nurse is qualified Cervical Check smear taker. She runs Childhood Vaccination Programme, Chronic Disease Management Programme and Antenatal Care, ensuring that every patient receives the utmost care and attention. With a compassionate approach and a dedication to excellence, Nurse Majella is here to provide you with the professional healthcare services you need.
GP Assistant and Practice Manager Elena Galinovska
Elena received an Honoured Bachelor of Political Science and Law, Postgraduate Diploma in Supervisory Management and worked decades in business administration before joining our medical practice. In 2023 Elena qualified as complementary therapist, followed by phlebotomy qualification a year later. At Shannon Street Medical Elena provides phlebotomy and 24H ABPM services.
